Hempseed is a rich source of the healthful beneficial fat Omega-3. And unlike flax, hemp contains the rare fats GLA (Super Omega-6) and SDA (Super Omega-3), which are more advanced fat metabolites than the simpler Omega-3 and -6 found in vegetable oils. Not everyone can convert simple Omega-3 fats to SDA and then to the top-tier EPA (found in fish), due to stress, aging, and environmental pollutants. We press and bottle our hemp oil in small batches. The bottles are nitrogen flushed and we add an induction foil seal covering the bottle opening, which prevents oxygen from seeping into the oil. We store our hemp oil, seed, and protein powder in warehouses kept below 40 degrees. It is best to keep hemp oil refrigerated and to use it within 8-12 weeks of opening. All of the above helps make Nutiva's hemp oil the freshest on the market.
