Fever is a normal response of the immune system to control infection. If an infection has not neen sufficiently handled by the white blood cells, chemicals signal the body to raise the temperature. Fever creates an inhospitable environment for bacteria and viruses. Suppressing a fever allows the infection to spread.
Peppermint, elder, and yarrow support the body's natural defense mechanism by helping the body gently raise or lower its temperature depending on need. Remember, herbs do not artificially raise the body's temperature and cause a fever. Rather, they can support what the body naturally wants to do.
